hiya im new here but i really need some help and advise i think i am suffering from skitsofrenia a have been hearing voices for the last 6 months and i don't know what to do thay are telling me to cut myself and i have been now im really scared what should i do??? I hate seeing my counciller and avoid doing so as much as i can and i don't wanna be labled a freak  |

Hmm...that's a tough one. I don't think you suffer from schizophrenia.
I thought schizophrenic's didn't realise that they were so. They tend to follow the voices in their heads with little second-guessing and even if they do try and not listen to them, they schizo's tend to keep it to themselves for fear of either someone finding out or the voices they hear getting worse. Also, schizoprenics tend to have delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech and behaviour (like dressing inappropriately or crying frequently for no apparent reason). I think they tend to also have other mental disorders such as clinical depression.
I might be wrong.
You're lucky to have a counsillor though so you should talk to them rather than relying on second hand info like the net to tell you something that a professional will be able to diagnose to a higher standard. Your counsillor's job is to listen to you and I hardly think he/she will label you a freak if that's what your scared of. Maybe then they can also find the root to your cutting problem.
Schizophrenia, unlike cutting, is a mental disorder (correct me if I'm wrong). It's not something that can be taken lightly as there is an increased in violence, not only from the person with schizophrenia but to the person as well. If I were you and really worried, my first stop would be the councillor.

yup dont you watch TV? the devil and angel always pops out so yea that person with the penguin isnt crazy its normal for angels and devils to pop out of nowhere onto your shoulder

I think we're on different realities. In my one, what happens on tv stays on tv. In your one, it appears that anything that happens on tv can happen in the real world as well. I really hope, for your sake, you're trying to be funny.

Have you told your counciler about this? I think you should tell your doctor also. Your parents would be good or someone you trust
