Right, i had a party this evening and we did the whole truth or dare thing. And so of course there were some prank calls. But i wound up getting the mate from hell to ring up. I had to ring up the guy, make certain noises down the phone and hang up. My friend who dialled the number forgot the 141 thing so my number was given. i did it and hung up. They rang back. I hung up twice coz i was scared and kinda gathering my wits, i rang back and apologised. I said "i'm sorry, but im at a party and i was just dared to do this. I didnt answer because i got scared but honestly it was just a harmless thing." The guy dad was the one who went all mad. He started swearing at me and everything and began saying he was gonna get the police involved. "I was like its not anything serious though. Hes our mate and now he knows who this is, he'll know its a joke." But the man was really serious. But now hes rung up about 4 more times and each time sworn down it, and added extra stuff to what he has to say. Ive just ignored it 2 of those times coz well im scared. But one of the times i did it i said something like "Listen next time you ring, you have to have the police there coz while you may have me done for harmless prank call, i'll get you done for verbal abuse and harrassment." Then i hung up on his rant.

Now i know I am in the wrong, but it was just one lil dare and i honestly am scared coz he is planning on learning where i live, and get the police. But can they actually do anything?? PLease help.

its petty. I would report it to the police, just to be on the safe side. Just visit your local station and tell them what happened. If it comes to it they will trace the owner and arrest them for harrasing you. As i think you cant really say more than sorry. And if you could record the harrasment you'd have evidence.

He wont be able to learn where you live unless you tell him, so dont.

Thanks ash. The only way he can learn where i live is through the school. But the headteacher likes me and has never told anyone off for prank calls. So lucks on my side atm.

lol, good good. I dont he they could without you or your parents permissions. As im sure its against the law to give contact details without consent

With good friends you can never go wrong, with someone who helps you when you need help, you'll get out of you're problems easier, and when you have a good friend who helps you, do the same for them. And always remember to congradulate friends when they do something good, and then you'll get enoguh congrats as the time passes. The more you give the more you get!
